  • 78 2-Door Build Thread

    hey there,

thought i'd start a bit of a thread for my 2-door im putting back together, which i've been working on for a few weeks.

i bought it as a complete shell already stripped - it was a 'meant to be project' which never really eventuated and the previous owner was going to send it to the wreckers if i didn't buy it.

it is a very straight car considering with minimal rust.

i have already done and learnt a lot within the last month.

bought the car for $250 all together and it came with 13x7 speedy rims with some mean offset (massive barn find)

I bought another mk1 with some good running gear, which im going to transplant, so by the time i'm done it will have the following:

    - 1.8 with dellorto side draft
    - 5 speed box
    - front sway bar
    - front and rear stress bars
    - gti front brakes + larger rear drums
    - mk1 dual exhaust
    - koni adjustables

Hope you enjoy this build as much as i do lol can't wait to get my first car on the road!

    Will take photos tomorrow.

    Michael.

Go to Photobucket.com, register an account (should be instantaneous) and follow the guideline.
The post the image as an attachment to your post, there's four sets of URL's to copy/paste on photobucket for each photo, the bottom one is the one you want, beginning with [IMG]
It's pretty simple. PM me if you need help.

Ignore anybody telling you to use imageshack, please!

                Good luck.
