  • MK1 Roof Lining

Need a new roof lining in my mk1 asap, as the car is stripped and need to put windows/boot back on etc.

Been quoted generally about $400 bucks! which is a bit much imo

Anybody know of a place that does cheap roof lining for a MK1 in NSW???...OR has anyone DIY and if so it is hard??

$400 is pretty good dude. It's not easy to make one and neither is installing one! Believe me. I have experience.

Not a bad price for Velour.. If that's for vinyl, pay the man and get it done.

yeah thats what people seem to be saying - all the blokes i rang said its a tricky job (the ones that knew what a mk1 was anyway).

a bloke quoted $180 to make it but then i would have to install, and i dont think id be any good at sowing it on ahah

$400 is for vinyl i believe, thats what i asked for.

If you're willing to drive it down to Fairfield, I can get a guy to do it for you at a more than reasonable price including install.

Also, stay away from vinyl it ignites... badly...

The headlining in my mk1 was made by mrs golf loon - so on that basis, you need to find one of your mates who has a mum that is a dab hand with a sewing machine.

Out of interest, how much was the respray?

yeah mate i would be willing to drive to Fairfield, i live in Strathfield so not too far...has he done work for you before??

respray? i bought the car as a shell off a guy who was intending to go all out on it but never got round to it - so it was completely stripped. i did get qoutes of about $1500 when i was thinking about it - jus didn't have the $$$.
