  • Mk 1 Carpet Kits

My Mk 1 could really do with new carpets. Anyone know if you can still get carpet kits for Mk 1’s? If so where?

Just after a basic kit to make it look and smell a bit better.

    Cheers.

there is alway the DIY option, of jsut getting some house carpet, and cutting and shaping it to fit.

But for a molded/fitting choise, there's a mob in knox that do them, about 125-150 bucks, in a variety of colours styles etc,. I'm pretty sure they're called Knox auto carpets or something to that effect. I've never used them, but would be interested to hear your thoughts if you did. There's also some options in the UK, (and europe i'm sure0 but they'd work out to be alot more expensive I think.

Hi mate, did you ever end up purchasing a carpet kit? If so, where from? Are you happy with it?

        Thanks,

I purchased from this MOULDED CAR CARPET FOR VOLKSWAGON GOLF - eBay Floor Mats, Carpets, Interior, Car, Truck Parts, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 09-Oct-10 20:24:09 AEDST)

Not the top quality stuff, but for < $200 nothing that you can complain about.

You might want to check out M & T Manufacturing in the U.S.

I bought an outer roof kit for my Mk1 Cabby and the quality was fantastic (just like a factory one down to the last detail). Been on the car for 3 years and no sign of deterioration.

They do carpets: Here is a link for the VW Rabbit Volkswagen Rabbit/Cabriolet Carpets and Floor Mats

                          I'm in no hurry mate.

I've got a couple big expenses coming up, so it wouldn't be for about a month atleast.

I think I might look at getting a carpet locally though, I think it'll work out noticeably cheaper in the end.
