  • Any experience?

Im in the motions of taking the 1500 and 4 speed box out of my gls and replacing
it with a EG-FD combo out of a gti. im not going to be using k-jet instead im going for
a bike carb conversion. just wondering if anyone on here has done this conversion before?

difficult to know if its not dyno'd on k-jet beforehand - all old engines are not equal. My mk1 with RV made 95hp on a dyno running a single DHLA, on the same day a digipants RV in a mk2 made only 75hp.... i guess you might get some idea....

anyway, interested to see your results and definately take a video http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u...1stdynorun.flv

Yea not sure what power is at the moment i would say its not the standard 110hp as its an old engine but would be happy with any where around the 100 mark
then can go from there probably end up getin in reconditioned and some extras thrown in

Dunno if it's relevant, but the owner's manual for my '76 says a 1600 engine puts out 75 bhp.

              Good luck with the mods/upgrades!
