I know the lad that had that one built, Nick Hosker, he had one of the first G60 MK1s in the UK too.
We were on our way down the M6 to a track day at Castke Combe. Me and a mate were in my 2 litre MK1 and came across Nick and some other Dubsport cars, the twin VR MK2 I think it was. Anyway, Nick pulls up the side of us and then goes smoking off up the outside lane. Which was impressive at the time as we were already doing 80+.
Ian Birch was telling us later at Combe how much of a handful it is to drive. You breath on the throttle and round it comes if you are not pointing dead ahead.
That video doesn't really capture the noise that car makes. The waste gate is chuffing massive.
Happy days when super unleaded was only 50p a litre.
i wish fuel was cheep and plentiful but its not unfortunately... chinas buying up every drop of oil it can so i think ethanol is the go.... tune ur engine right and itll do better ocatane than premium unleaded
VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life There are few things more satisfying in life than finding a solution to a problem and implementing it
