Her "new" Cabby is featured on TV down here in an ad for Bass & Equitable, a finance company. She gets $300 , full tank of fuel and detailing each time they borrow it!
Heh... I jumped around like a fool when i saw that ad...
I love all Cabbys (early ones expecially) they just make me smile
GLIs were imports, they were basically pov' pack GTI's with all the good bits but without the badging...
Yes GLI's were the cabrio version of the GTI. The car has the heron head 1.6 engine with K Jet, the vented front brakes and the front and rear sway bars like the GTI. It also has the close ratio 5 speed box. In the later years VW did have a cabrio GTI 1.8......
I've got a soft spot for early cabby's. I reckon I've gotta have one one day!
Ok, you lot, grab me while I'm thinking of bigger cars...yes, I'm thinking about selling my pride and joy!!!......come and talk to me at next Sunday VWCV Concours or call me on 0417 793 846 to discuss spec. and $$$$.
