I've only ever done 3rd party + fire and theft. sucks when you roll your own car, but handy since it's only ~400 p.a., with agree value, of about 3K for my exGLD. I wouldn't full comp unless i had done some serious work, and then I'd look at going with shannons.

Full comp would be a waste of money in my eyes. Especially for $1000 worth of German... car.
I dealt with AAMI as third party's insurer. I basically had the choice between writing off my car for $5k or so, or having it repaired depending on the panel shop I went to, without it costing me a single cent.

I go with Shannons, agreed value (that gets increased every time I spend a little more on mods for the manky little Mk1 ).

I can't justify the potential loss on my daily drive with no immediate replacement. I don't have the cash flow to fork out a couple of grand for a replacement car.

Haven't had to make a claim with Shannons, but I have only heard good things so far.

I will try them, but I'm 95% sure they won't insure me.
Meh, I have three cars and I live a 2 minute drive from my work. Won't have to/but could do without!

Shannons. Can't remember the premium, but I think its under $500. Agreed value.

Im insured with Elders, which is for national party voting country folk. Comprehensive insurance is $260 pa. I have no idea what the excess is or what they would agree that its worth, however recently a massive cwocksnap in a hilux drove over the front guard and bumper of our $50 Mk1. The insurance paid out $1400 without writing the car off!
