Problem with the switch is that I can't hang the under-dash carpet with it in the way.

BTW, above pic makes me hate life. I was never aiming for Hellafendercrunch BS, was hoping they'd fit a heap more comfortably than that.
Also, that pic is with a 15mm test-spacer. If 7mm less poke counts for anything, that's where it's going to be...

I'll 'fit' the wheels once tires are on, that's when i'll make the big decision: whether to buy spacers and long bolts, or give up.

ive got +16 13x6.5 on front.

I had to flare out front guards "gently" with a big hammer, and then mod the crap out of the GTi arches to allow a little more rim to be covered. i still got about 3mm poke. but i still need to set camber and actually get rest of engine in,

I haven't factored in camber at all really... Hopefully that will give some relief from 14x7 +7 (spaced).

I put some blocks under the control arm and dropped it back down for a test fit. Silly me, they'll fit no worries with a guard roll because they pulled in heaps.

Tires fitted. Last set of Federal 155/55's EVER, if i understand correctly. Suck me.



And yes, fitment is a goer.

Yep, but it's not as Mexican as I thought it was going to be.
Didn't want to have to butcher my guard because 80% of the time these wheels will be off the car.

And THEN! my alternator decided to slice the fuel line dangling near it

leaving me stranded about 20mins from home!



My survival instincts told me to use a bit of the hose for the vacuum reservoir (that thing in the driver-side fender...), and voila. Got me home.
