Thanks guys, yeah I reckon I will head up there, would be nice to see all the Tassie VWs.
Pretty gutted though atm cause the other night I came back to my car after having parked for a few hours and found a dent in the front bumper, someone must've bumped into it with their car or something.Luckily the indicator still works. Was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and whether it was easily fixed. Could I just take the bumper off and try to get the metal behind the plastic back into place? Guess it might be worth a try.
Here are a couple of pics.

ahhh crap. hate it when something like this happens.
no note left I take it??
i'd take it off and try and fix the reo bar, and then maybe the plastic will just sit neater..

Ahh that sucks dude!! Sorry to see that.
Remove the bumper and take the steel reinforcing channel off the bumper. Then try and straighten it as best you can. If you can't get it perfect, you could always put a couple of washers under the low point(s) on the studs between the channel and the bumper to try and even it up..

Yeah there was no note left. Thanks for the sympathy guys, guess there's not much I could do.
Thanks Preen I'll definately give that a go, makes sense that the reinforcing metal should determine the shape of the outer plastic. Will post up once I've given it a go.77 Mk1 w/2E Engine (no longer for sale)

I know how you feel, was in Launie the other week and parked my car in the 'secure' hotel parking thinking it would be nice and safe there only to come back to it the next day with a nice white strip of paint about 2" long on the rear wheel arch!Thankfully will polish out!

Yeah i was going to suggest putting it in the sun if you didn't have a heat gun.. But winter in Tassie probably isn't that warm. haha.
