CV off driveshaft?

I can't seem to get the CV off the drive shaft. i've pulled the circlip tabs as far apart as possible and given it plenty of good whacks with a hammer. the mother just won't budge. am i missing something? the other side came off easy! spent hours trying to get it off. there was lots of swearing and throwing things around.

any advice?
