  • Gti Front Grille

    Hi,
I have a Mk.1 GLS 2-door. What switches do I need to hook up to the lights on a Gti front grille and does my wiring loom already have the wires for it? Also where is the switch to turn the fog lights on in a Gti? Cheers.

The switch lives in the blanked out position above the radio , should already have hazard light switch and rear demister if your lucky. Pretty sure there switch is long since obsolete nowdays tho.Has 2 positions, one being for the rear fog lamp, the second position for front and rear.

Harness is not included in std dash harness either.
    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    Cheers,
    Grant...

Depends if you have an S1 or S2 dash.

On the early S1 dash the foglight switch is to the right of the hazard light switch...

So is it possible to convert to a factory setup for the Gti lights i.e. get the original style switch and harness. Since a Gti dash is different I am assuming you would need a whole new harness and most people would just wire the lights up another way. How would you wire Gti lights into existing harness?

Most would just hook them up to the high beam circuit via a relay.

when i fitted the GTi grill, i just powered the inner lights direct from the battery with a fusible link. A relay was used to automatically switch the lights on when high beam was activated.
