  • You have been MK1 less for only a week and really miss the smell/noise/feel of the old cars...

Must have a remedy for this feeling soon!

      • When you keep breaking pins trying to adjust/unblock the driver's side windshield washer outlet. The passenger side works perfect (of course), but the driver's side has three settings: too high, too low and blocked

        • You decide you are going to rely on your car to get you somewhere on time - and then it decides to lunch another fuel pump.

What on earth is killing those fuel pumps? Are they new? Do you have a filter before the pump? It could be a rusty tank and no pre-filter. Standard the k-jet tanks (or diesel tanks) only have an in-tank strainer that doesn't seem to effectively stop what is effectively iron filings passing through your pump.

They are all used, the new one goes on tomorrow. I have not actually been under this car to understand the layout of the fuel system. At this stage I have been relying on heaps of goodwill from very knowledgeable people to get this car to run - I think that the age of the pumps that they have accessed has led to this as a result. We will know tomorrow when the new one is in for sure.

                • It rains and you get a bathtub effect in the boot area.

Yep, it may be better than the old mk1, but in all it is still a mk1!

                  • When you miss it to death! it's been in the shed with a broken clutch

But it's getting fixed with some extra special presents for it.

we just went for a run to the shops and i was thinking to myself - what other car gives this kind of feedback about the surface your driving on? NONE! its not just like an open wheeled racer - it has a cavernous prismatic body to amplify the noise so you can hear it better!
