Well...if anyone ever got Milo cranked before it hit the casket, you would have realised his grunt.

After i changed the box and clutch (even before) it genuinely hammered!

Hard to keep grip on him, much nicer when i had the 225's on the front, original MK (hmm...forgive my innocence) - actually they werent MKII GTI rims...i cant remember, anyway...it had some extreme pull when it was in its full pieces. Didnt last long...someone tried to put it through a school yard after a wee bit too much chit chat with Mr James Beam. (oh...and "I" dont drink bourbon...)

All 1600 Golfs hammered. in the Uk we had 1L, 1.1 and 1.3L ones. I had a few 1300s which went ok. But 1.6 is best for power to weight ation. i`ve still got Milos motor and box here. A bit of no licence going around i`ve heard.

it was my bad.. i got bored one night waiting for raoul to come back from a concert.. i decided to kill time by demolishing half a bottle of jimbeam to myself in about 2 hours... decided to go for a "spin around the block" in milo, then jim took over and started going around other streets instead of the block i lived in at the time. (mind you, luckly iit was late, and quiet streets). anyway.. i think jim stopped driving at one stage, by that stage.. i had fallen asleep. i would seem that i had sailed straight down a street and attempted to turn a corner. instead, i jumped up onto a gutter and missed a fence by about a metre(the fence was about 2 metres from the gutter). when i came too(impact). i had realised what had happened and got worried. 1. drink driving. 2. no licence. 3. in bad part of neighbourhood where many "islanders" live. 4. the car wouldnt start. 5. when i pushed the car off the gutter, i noticed the wheel and rim was well busted. 6. the steering wheel was goin mental like i was driving on the dunes(the car was smooth tho). i locked the car and ran home.. waited for raoul and co to come home and we towed it back with a bit of rope and a bigarse ute..

and there you have it folks, the tales of the drunk, unlicenced driver

Yeah!! What do you reckon? Should we have a "General Chat" forum for swapping personal stories? Have to be careful not to turn away people who don't like what they could perceive as factions and cliques.

                            My Genuine MK1 GTi

Here are a couple of pics of my MK1 GTi. It is an 81 model, genuine private import from the UK. I am currently doing a 16V conversion on the car so I can rebuild the original engine and return it to its original spec. Will post pics of this soon!

                                Nice Mk1

Same colour as mine! But gee....those rims look great. If I weren't such an originality nut I would go for something like those. Does it have the Pommie rear light clusters?

Towbar?? Yeah, my little girl has one too. A towbar on a diesel??? That'd make you work the gearstick! I'll never use it.
