There was a Helious Blue Campaign for sale in Queensland a couple of years ago, UK import iirc. I seriously considered buying it, spoke to the owner for a while. Not sure whether someone on here ended up with it or not, or if it's been mentioned yet.

I know the guy that was selling it in QLD. He had it here in Sydney but moved to QLD and took it with him.

This may have been posted somewhere on here once before, but I don't think anyone will mind seeing it again.

I know of two PROPER GTI's in Perth. I saw a dark green campaign a few years ago in Stirling with the green windows, and a guy comes up to the shop with a beat up old white '76 1.6 (small taillights and chromies) GTI. Its dirty and beat, but totally original except the bumpers which should be black painted chromies.

                    So there's a possible 3 for Perth

                      GTI's in Perth

The green one was sold new by Regents ( $24K back then). Was for sale for $22K about 1985. Drove very nicely from memory, unfortunately it was t-boned a very short time later, the couple who owned it were wanting $7K for it in bent condition.

Panel beater at Wangara repaired it and have only seen it a few times since then.

There is also a Black 82 that is in Perth somewhere, guy brought it over from Adelaide in about 03, needed a full body resto as it had rust perforation around the windows etc, but very nice other than for that.

Is the 76 car an original LHD Wade?? from memory the RHD's wernt produced til 79.
                      Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

                      Cheers,
                      Grant...

Hmmm. Well he said it was a '76 but i never checked. I can't actually remember if it was lhd or rhd!!

Whatever the case, it was the early spec lights, bumpers & trim. Maybe it was converted to rhd??

Haha, yeah, the idea was people would copy/paste the list and add to it themselves, but I'll go through it soon and sort it out.

I reckon it's great that we're finding out more about the ones hidden away.

Wasn't there a company in the UK at the start there that did factory-like conversions on left hook GTIs?

                              Hi Guys,
                              I can add 2 more.

I had an 1989 Helious blue cab for about 10 years. Last time I saw it was in Richmond vic. It was on carsales about 2 years ago.
I bought it from a chap who had bought it brand new from VW export services and had it shipped straight here new.
                              Was such a good car.

I now have an ex Singapore GTI 1.6 in gloss black. One of the last 1.6's made.
Just had the head freshened up and should be back in the road in a month or so.
                              90 GTI Cab.

A 1983 1.6, wow, I thought the 1.8 was introduced a bit earlier than that. I'd love to see some pics.

Would love to meet up one day and compare some notes.
