im thinking of getting a aus spec mk1 3 door, and just wondering if its hard to get the panel between the tail lights on this car.. or is it a aftermarket peice?
Ryan
i had one, they are pretty rare, but you can find em, they are called "hekeblende" one was going on my golf, but my dad dropped it on my 21st birthday!!!
well... most rare parts never came to OZ or the U.S! so they were never named in english... hence vw coming from germany, most parts are still in german language, you may not know it, but youll start understanding german words once affilliated with VW's
and are you refering to plastic panel between lights? i got one but is all black. and dont have rabbit on it.. or is that a aftrermarket thingy?
nope, thats something different all together. that part is a factory GLD thing ( i believe) where as the red thing with rabbit is a proper aftermarket part.

nah dude! i had it on my garage wall, dad went to get something about 3 meters away, turns out that thing was 4 meters long and took the hekeblend with it! i almost cried!!!
I bet you are absolutely spewing, how bad did it break?? I had never seen one in Australia before and i had been into golfs for 12 years so when i stumbled across that in an old mans shed when he sold me a golf i paid good$$$$$$ for it as i knew it was special. So sad to hear it has gone. On another note if you knew someone excellent with plastics another could be made up using the original as a template?

being so old, the plastic was brittle and pretty much broke like glass! i couldn't believe my eyes! it broke like 5-6 ways and it only dropped about 1.5 meters ARRRGH! THIS BRINGS BACK SHI*TY MEMORIES one of the crappiest things that happened to me involving volkswagens!
