  • Cabbie drive shft seal

Does anyone know the part number for the seal behind the driveshaft flange on the side of a 5 speed 93 Cabbie gearbox? The seal that would cause fluid to leak out into the drive shaft boot.
VW parts department down here can't figure it out.

    Cheers

Not too bright then are they?

020498085G is the part number for the 020 output shaft seal kit.

      Thanks for your help Pete,

$85 from the local stealer vs $7 US + postage means i'll be going offshore for the part. VW here were going to have it shipped from Singapore, so i would have had to wait for it anyway.

      Cheers

You might like to try one of your local independent VW shops they should be able to get cheaper seal kits than the parts distributors.

Those seal kits should be quite common as the 020 5 speed gearboxes were fitted to Mk1, Mk2, Mk3 Golfs and Seat Cordobas.

I'd be surprised if Robinson Automotive didn't have easy access to a set or two.
