yeah, they are brown because the rubber is discoloring them from behind. i found this out with my flappers. i have to paint mine with a leather/synthetic paint every so often. it is a flexible paint so it does not peel, looks great when its first done.

just getting the bumper straightened and going to see how much that and a number plate will hide the damage first.

front bumper bent back into "shape" i didn't have one of the black rubber strips for the front but i had a spare rear bumper so chopped one to fit, stole the end caps off the other rear bumper too. doesn't look too bad. hopefully it will do for the time being.

nice job, car is looking nice, shame about the front though. I remember when someone backed into my mk1, the bar behind the bumper was puxhed in. I ended up pulling it out with my hands.

                          Blueslip failed

all good though. some pretty easy fixes.

the main thing was the seatbelt is worn and the drivers seat wobbles around a bit.

i tested the horn before driving down worked fine... then during the inspection it wouldn't work

Was fun to venture out on main roads to get to the inspection place though.
