Gee, I'm glad the guy didn't jack up the GTI when I got the pink slip for it
There's a big spectrum of folks out there when it comes to pink slips.
The mechanics I use for my regular cars (not the GTI) are good, but the guy who does the pink slips is a bit anal like that - he knocked back a 3 year old Astra because the middle rear seat belt rectractor had locked.
We never use it (ever tried to squeeze 3 people in the back of a TS Astra?), but it's registered as a 5 seater, so...

I think that's a fair call. A lot of people get knocked back for BS on things that they are not supposed to check. They have rigid rules on what they check and what fails, but some of them make up their own rules.
I've heard of of a few Golf owners failed because of 14" wheels
haha i got knocked back on my brake master cylinder fluid being just under the MIN line,, thats tight...but hey i probaly would never of filled it up and relised untill my next pad change
