  • Fitting New Convertible Hood BRISBANE

    Hey guys,

I have just returned with a new hood from the UK, bought for a fraction of the cost and a new headliner too (Thanks Velly).

Does anybody know someone who can fit this properly for me?

Ideally based in Brisbane and someone who could do it for Cash, Beer or Cash & Beer!

I have spoken to a couple of Vehicle trimmers but they want big money to do it.

If anyone needs the contact details of the UK supplier then let me know. They ship worldwide apparently.

    Look forward to hearing back..

    Cheers

          Hi Mark,

I'll grab you contact details later....It cost me 120 quid English (approx $240) for the new hood, the new headliner cost 50 quid (approx $100) including wires but they won't ship or take credit card payments as far as I know.

          Cheers

                  Hi all,

Have sourced a local company to fit my new hood that was purchased in the UK from B.A.S International. Fingers crossed, being fitted this tues!

I'll definitely get some pics up here once done. Please don't expect it to look like some of the 'hot' cars on here...I am trying to keep this car as original as it came off the factory line....

we have the same cars and professions !!!! (well I change regularly, I'm currently consulting to Govt. as a Dev. Mgr, but have just come back from working on what was "the world's largest project-twice the size of Hong Kong" in Dubai until the sh*t hit the fan globally....and the rest is history)

Try All Car Interiors at Windsor (Lutwyche Road-near the railway bridge). The did my roof, I got the roof from the US (M & T Manufacturing) and they guys at All car did the job for us and the workmanship was good on the install(about $500-$600?), and they also repaired a split seam on the back seat ($50) and tidied up the carpet around the door that was lifting for nix.

Agree with you that if you ain't comfortable doing it yourself, pay someone so it is done right. These guys were good.

Cheers Paulie, I had been in touch with these guys but managed to get it done locally and for the right money!

Having said that, when I picked up the car this morning the guy did say he'd never do another one as it was too labour intensive (he did hood and headliner for $500) All car Interiors quoted $450 just for the new hood so very pleased with the deal.

Just waiting on the snap brackets to come in from the states to finish it off nicely.

Do you have a fuse box lid/cover on your Cabrio by the way? If so, could you please take a picture of it and send it to me? I am trying to locate the fuse for my screen washer pump. I just bought a new pump from the states but this hasn't fixed the problem. I can only assume it's now the fuse?

                        Thanks Paulie

I have the same problem, except mine is a bit hit/miss as it works when I hold my tongue the right way. Fuse number 11 (counted from the left) should be the fuse (15 amp - blue), but if this is blown the wipers themselves would be out of action.

Check the stalk to see if it works or check for current getting to pump with a multimeter
