  • My car needs some help

I've just had someone back into my car while it was parked in the city, (at least I think it was because it wasn't dented when I parked it) and need some advice on where to repair it and get the spare parts. It's a 76 golf which is why im so annoyed as not many repairers that I've spoken to would know the shape of the front panel. It has bent below the grill where i suspect a towbar hit it and has pretty much stuffed my bumper, which im not to worried about. Ill also need a new grill and silver trim around it. The dent has penetrated just in slightly so it hasn't hit the radiator, and it is still drivable but I'd still like to get some advice on where to go. Ill have some pictures up tommorow when I can upload them.

Also the bonnet has got rust slowly making its way through it, and although i could get it removed somewhat and filled, it is just going to keep coming back, so im on the hunt for a new bonnet.

Any advice or assistance would be much appreciated as i dont want to give or up which is sort of what the folks are pressuring for.

IIRC, GolfLoon, aka Matt, aka Camden Gti has chopped some Mk1 recently, he should have the front panel and bonnet for you. I have a front grill for you if you can't find it elsewhere.

From what you described the damage is not too bad, any "good" panel shop should be able to repair it if you can't find any replacement parts.
