Tacho help

After a under dash fire on the weekend in my mk1 I am going to rewire the car Also destroyed was the plastic circut board for the instruments I dont need anything but the tacho to function again My question is There are three cotacts coming out of the tacho I am thinking they are positive nega tive and coil wire does anyone in golf land know which is which Thanks in advance Trevor

red/black off coil to c19 then out on d15 red to tach. the other wires go to the earth in the instrument cluster brown and also along the earth of the warning lights.

Might be as easy to get an aftermarket tacho??

I have a tacho/speedo from and early mk 1 that i dont think ill need. It is for free.
