One Thousand Pounds for a TSR Power Steer Kit, in the UK although they dont make em anymore.

Or bodgy something up, but it will then need engineering.

I reckon a Mk2 or 3 rack would fit with some custom bracketry, I`d also like to hear from anyone that has done it.

I started to reply with some negative references to the numerous times this question had been asked But than I remembered a conversation with Steve (20valvekitcar) who said he had sucessfully used a mk3 rack, then there is the green (frog) mk1 that Matthias built that seems to have an electric PS pump fitted (no idea as to the rack) so I guess that there may still be options other than the now extinct TSR kit.

But aside from all that who else is going to be rallying a Mk2???
I thought I was the only one prepping a car this side of Victoria?

posted this ages ago if you can be bothered digging out old posts..

A mate here used a Mazda 323 ps rack in his Mk1 autocrosser ( benger circuit)

apparently its the right width, and the tapers match the VW steering knuckles..

dunno what he used as a pump, but it would be academic anyway as long as the pressure relief was set accordingly..

the car was running a locked diff + steering brake..

          HTH..
          Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

          Cheers,
