  • good buy or not?

hi all, i found this ad on ebay and later discovered it in the "whats on ebay" section of the forum. i was seriously having thoughts towards buying it but from what i read in the thread for this car, it didn't seemed to be liked very much...is it just for its appearance or is there something deeper i need need to know about?

That is a very similar spec 16V Mk1 that GolfLoon sold few months ago.
IF everything is glued together properly that is a very good price, watch out the big 'IF' though . However I heard Mark is a good VW specialist, that may give you higher level of confident.
Another concern you may have is buying that car from Vic, you'll need to pass blue slip, you don't know what'll come up with that process.

yeah i wasn't into buying a car needing a blue slip but apparently they aren't as dawnting as they sound, as long as you go to the rite place

If i recall the other thread about this car mentioned the possibility of some serious rust around the windscreen and A pillars. If it looks like it has those problems then I'd steer clear, esp at that price.

          But I could be wrong....

yeah all he mentioned was some minor corrosion around the windscreen...but besides that it's ok he reckons. he said that the car chosen for the conversion was in pretty good shape...
