  • Bloody Pedal!

Purchased a 93 cabrio a couple of weeks ago..which im loving at the moment, but im finding the gas pedal very annoying. Anyone know why the damn thing is so high up, my foots almost at 90 degrees! Any help on adjusting it maybe, would be great.

    Cheers Alex

    Hi Alex,

Good choice of car. I too have a '93 Cab. With the pedal I find mine "normal", and when purchasing the car all the cab's I drove all felt the same.

The only fault I find is due to it being metal, it heats up with the heater on, making it to hot to drive in bare feet!

Maybe it has been bent by a previous driver? or possibly the bushes for the pedal have become worn or damaged. Does it move freely?

Hey mate, welcome to the forum.

Every Mk1 Golf I have had has had a high pedal, it is annoying but you will find you get used to it.

      Post some photos?

        Second that.

I bent mine down a bit to make it a bit more drivable (not too far or you hit the floor before the pedal opens the carby up fully!).

I have seen plenty of extensions attached to them over the years. Easy job!!

I just bought myself a MOON equip pedal add on thing so that should make it look pretty good and make it easier to drive too
