Looks good
Nice to see another mK1 being restored (especially in Tassie) I don't have broadband and couldn't view even one of your pics completely but what I did see impressed. We all appreciate valver's triumph (no upper case "T"
) and it would have been good to follow the progress of tassiegti's project further.

Nice work. Keep the pics coming.
Nice thick underbody rust sealant and sound deadener gives a nice protective coat.
Fill in those blinker hole on the side guards whilst they are off
I hope the BBS kit is going back on.
Your car looked sweet before. (I saw it in Sydders) and will look even better soon I reckon.sigpic Camden GTI Performance. VW / AUDI Specialists

Look's like a good project you've got going there Luke. Good solid starting base too!
Like the ol-skool BBS kit too! Don't see many, if any anymore.
Also like the alloy rocker cover. Looks sort of like the old Moroso/Rapid style covers.
I see you into collecting BMW rim's, gearboxes & M3 disc rotor's too.
How do the E30 rims fit on the Mk1?
Alway's tried to get the BBS 15" off the 325is & E30 touring's but could never find any, especially for the right price.
Look forward to the progress

Hi Luke.
I couldn't any previous details that you might have posted about your car - can you fill in a few blanks?
For example, it is a 1.8 K-jet, right? (I assume that this is not exactly ex-factory)
The rear disks - are these the M3 disks that golfworx was referring to?
I like the BBS kit too - I wonder if Golf Loon would disown me if I stuck one on the front of the GTI

I had a full set of M3 front & rear disc's, pad's & calipers I got when Frank Gardner Racing were converting the 3.0L M3's to M3R spec with full AP Racing spec brakes. I helped do a back yarder headgasket on a M3R & got payed with these as the original brakes came with the car when the bloke brought it.
I should of kept them too, but I swapped them for a full house TH400 auto! Ah well.Last edited by Oneofthegreats; 23-10-2006, 10:29 PM.
