  • Fitting Subaru Seats in the Golf

    Hi all,

Through my other cars club i seem to have scored a free set of seats for the RS (RS seats!!) so my old seats will be redundant.... now, how hard would it be to fit them to my golf??

    whats involved?

    Cheers,

    Darko

Anyone know what i need to do to fit?

Am i able to use the golf's rails on the seats? or is it a process of putting in the Liberty's rails on the golf?

    Help please!

You need to take the "rails" off a MK1 seat (some serious wrok with a grinder involved) and glue them (weld) to yer RS seats. Talk to Pete at the Canberra VW Centre (Shamelss plug there I know) as he has done it many time with Jap brand seats and is real good at it now. Tell him Tim sent you (not sure if that will be taken as a bad or good thing).

You have to destroy the seat base of the VW seats and weld some flat bars across the VW frames and bolt the Subaru seats to it. (I've done it before to a Beetle)

yeah kill some donor seats for sure weld and cut to suit you can weld the legs and make a base or just weld the legs to the rs seat rails, this is something in the ball park i hope.. hope it helps...
