  • chrome bumper/long tails?

i dont think i have ever thought about this...

did vw bring out a metal bumper mk1 with long tail's from factory?

    cheers

Nah, the big tails came out end of 79/80 and by that time, mk1s had plastic bumpers.

AFAIK, metal bumpers were only on 75, 76 and 77 models.

Ah cool, not to my knowledge but happy to be proved wrong.

I used to think it looked rank but it is not too bad if the rest of the car is done right.

In the states, late golf 1's had really long tails and aluminum bumpers (painted black). My '78 has small tails like a cabby and steel chrome bumper. But our bumpers are much taller... so jealous of your tiny bumpers, whether steel or plastic.

I don't know if VW did from the factory, but I've got pics of the combo.

also US or EU chrome, and US or EU bigs??

Thanks Jarred, taillights is what we call them down here. We must be behind!
Never heard them called tails. I had the later "tails" on Gunter with the steel bumper. The later panel and lights were cheaper to buy than the normal one.

See, Gunter looks HOT with the long tail-lights :biggreen: and steel bumpers.

                      I would hit it

i didnt know they were called long tails?

The US Rabbits had really long tails which look like they are off a Pontiac or Ford.

                              Either, nothing worse IMO.

Euro long ones look hot, I love the all red ones esp!
