Speedo cables

Well it appears that the Mk1 Golf / Scirocco GTi speedo cables are NLA from VW AND aftermarket suppliers.

I have had a quote for $75 + GST to have a new inner and outer fitted to my existing busted cable to bring it back to life.

You can still get the latter cable that uses the plastic clip at the speedo end ( think its 82 and up, mine uses the threaded collar)

Have thought about purchasing one of these cables and get the correct end collar fitted and length increased as to give me new rubber grommets and the seal for the transmission end. , just its now quite an expensive proposition.

Please note, the GTi has a longer cable to allow it to circumnavigate all the K jet paraphernalia ...

Any one getting these from elsewhere ??

Interesting to note that both the broken original cables I have are different lengths.

I'll measure them and post the length up tmw after work, Thanks guy's for the offers

Have ta do some research at the likelyhood of other VAG stuff fitting yet thanks Syncro, hopefully the weekend will give me some time..
