  • Ooops I did it again

    With the Rally Golf stuck in a time warp, Kelly took pity on me and let me pick up an other mk1 to keep me busy untill the Rally car comes home (aint she great?)
    So I (i mean "we") are now the new owners of a 2 door 76 LS (in baby-poo yellow). Pics to follow

    Yep Steve, Beth's Golf has a new home

    Baby Poo

    For the record (with many thanks to Mr Loon) CLR 719 - Wattle.
    My Autobarn guy looked confused because the CLR bit suggests Nissan (see prevoius threads re Nissan colours), but his computer actually showed it as a VW colour. $36 for 500ml should be enough to touch up the rough bits.

        Will also show the same colour for Volvo.
        They were all painted in the same factory (Clayton)

          And for my next trick;
          Once out from under the gum trees, it no longer looks quite so "baby-poo". Turns out to be yellow! Faded and filthy, but still yellow.
          Anyone in Canberra want some baby-poo touch up paint ??

              Well Smithy, I suggest you drop the Loon a note, he has a tin as well and might be easier to pickup
              And... I am now confused again because the plate on the front says that it IS baby-poo (sorry I mean CLR 719). The rest of the paintwork is soooo faded is was impossible to guess.

                        There is only one red on an Australian LS and it is Citrus Red (CLR 313)

                            Pics

                            So here she is, Baby-poo yellow and all. This is an "after" shot. Kelly spent Saturday arvo polishing while I worked on the electrics.

                            Not too shabby huh?

                            Big thanks to Peter Shelly for the drive shafts, patience and the trunk full of goodies I always seem to leave his workshop with, and Tim (Gotrice) and Andre (Hill Flog) who came thru with the non-bouncy suspension bits.
