  • Just bought another Cabrio!

Well, after the accident that my daughter had in her 81 GLI Cabrio a couple of christmases ago I decided to get her another one and sell on the other one. I will list it shortly.
This ones a 93 model and goes like a dream. The main thing is, she is happy to be back in one and was heading off home to detail it.

                    Tanks all and thanks Preeny.
Yes, I hope everything works out well. The roof on her old Cab was brand new, inner and outer before the car was damaged so I might think about swapping it over. Does anyone know if they are all the same, Hydraulic operated roof to a manually operated one? The other one has been sitting in a "bird free shed" for over 2 years. I also have to sell her silver GLS as well and might put it up here though they normally sell very quickly at work.
                    Thanks again fellas, Andrew

                      Car looks good Andrew.

We put a manual roof onto a hydraulically operated car recently. It was all the same, except for the linkage on the frame where the cylinder mounts.

Your girl will be happy I reckon, the later cabrios look much nicer than the earlier ones IMO.

New roofs are pretty expensive aren't they? That must've cost you a bit.

Yep, its a long story, one of our dogs decided to sunbake on the old cab a few christmas days ago now. We were out for the arvo, as you do on christmas days.
Anyway, the dog got hungry and decided to chew up the roof!!!
Insurance job but I think it was about $3,500 fitted for Shannons!
Theres little or no wrong with the red ones roof but it would be nice to have the new one on it.

                            Nice cab!

Wow, very nice example. I wonder how many of the final '93 delivery of 360 cars are now left! I have build number #15999.

With the roof it looks like some of the internal straps have become torn or loose as it's not folding correctly, however the side cables look OK.

Will you be keeping the electric/hydraulic roof operation when changing the top? It's a great feature to have.

Shame about the missing wheel center cap-good one's are so hard to find. The clips become very brittle and snap off. especially at the front with the heat of the brakes.
