New brake pads - DS2500?

Anyone used the Ferodo DS2500 brake pads for street use?

My vehicle is due for a change of brake pads - its a Mk1 Golf GTI. I have been using Pagid Fast Road pads, but they don't seem to exist anymore. I can get a set of Ferodo DS 2500 pads and I read good reports about them for track use
I am wondering if anyone has experience of using them for street use - daily driver?

I've used them daily for the last four years in a couple of different cars - they're perfect for a warmed over road car, apart from the fact that they spit out heaps of dust compared to standard pad. No problems from cold, decent hot (though not really a 'track' pad) and very minimal noise.

The other option is the Ferodo Formula, which is basically a DS2500, but cheaper, due to being made in Thailand - not available in a lot of shapes, though.

The Endless SSM is decent aswell, but they're quite soft and don't last very long

On the Liberty they are reported to need a bit of warmth, one or two stops, to bite. On they track they go the distance. They can be a little squeally in some cars, yet not others, and some squeal is fixed by some backing plate fixative changes???

Yep, they were in my Mk1, my Mk3, my Cupra and now in my Bora

P.S. EBC green (and red, black and ultimate!) are rubbish. If you like them, you really need to try Ferodo, Pagid or Endless!!

Thanks for the feedback. I've ordered a set.
It seems that there is a bit of an art to matching brake pads to individual driving style and conditions. The Pagid fast roads worked well, now to see how well the DS2500 and my driving match up

My ol man ran Pagid pads in his GTI calipers and they were great. The EBC Red Stuff are a fraction of the price and have done 6 race meetings and are wicked he recons

One of the problems with being spoiled for choice is choosing the right balance for yourself. So much comparison is subjective too - feel, volume of dust etc. Then there are differing compounds for various uses.

That's why I referred to choice as an art, and why I asked about a particular set of pads. for my particular set of circumstances and uses.

Comparisons of differing brake pads is a never ending argument. One can only be pleased if one is happy with what has been chosen (not how it compares to someone else's choice)

In Bendix the number is DB 399

If I order a few of those in QFM's A1RM (Ferodo DS2500 type pad) would there be much market for them at $119 per set? Or a Bendix Ultimate type pad (minus dust and rotor wear) for $79? If it's a common enough pad I'll order a few sets of each to keep in stock...
