hey

i got a vw golf mk1 gti with a 5 speed gearbox in it but i cant seem to change to 5th. any1 who can help me out?

underneath the car there is a 13mm bolt with hose hamp arrangment where the linkage rod and the pivot meet...
you will need to undo the clamp
then towart the middle of the car will be a rubber boot if you feel through the boot you should be able to feel a little foot...
remove the boot and then fin a matchbox...with the matchbox space the arm and out with the width of it. then tighten the clamp...check it and it should be akright...if it isn't move the arm slightly out until you do get it will take some filding but its easy
