        i had a mk1 with mars red sticker in the boot, it was red but now is black lol '76 model

            I don't think there would of been two reds in Australia.

            A good read about Australian production is in the book "Volkswagen in Australia, The forgotten story." There are also many photos of Citrus Red Golfs.

                  Thanks Syncro. I worked on this mars red (I think thats what it is) golf today. This golf is in volkswagen in australia, the forgoten story. The guy who owns it has owned it since brand new.

                          lol, im not into reading, i cant sit there and just read a book, i read a bit of it when i was in hospital for a while. Yeh i just assumed that colour is mars red, but now i think back i remember seeing a sticker saying the paint was citrus red ( On the radiator support), someone backed into him and he had to get the front resprayed and there was a sticker saying what colour it is.
