  • How to fix slow wipers on Mk1 Golf

    Found this whilst searching

My own bit of input is that seat Ibiza wiper motors will fit onto the Mk1 mechanism and are made in the 90s not the 70s and you can get em in Australia.

The motor from a mk2 also fits in place of the MK1s I am told by a mate in the UK who runs a couple of MK1 GTIs

They do, but there are not many donor cars here. The Ibiza motor is the same as a Mk2 and even has the same electrical connector.

wiper slowness is also attributed to crappy fusebox syndrome, encountered in most mk1's. current track L runs the wipers i think, and a bunch of other stuff. it seems to go bad on diesels a lot..... fix that and you ewnd up with lots of working stuff that never did or was bad before...
