  • 1471cc

On doing the registration, the engine number that came off the car allegedly is a 1471cc (and told from a Passat?) not the 1588cc that I was under the impression that I had.

I have had a quick look around, but cannot find decoder that makes sense of my engine number...

Anyone got any suggestions - the engine number on the paperwork is ZB0955622 - if anyone can help me out that would be great.

    Off for a drink...

I think the ZB came out of the early Audi Foxes Mikinoz from memory.

        Engine Code

        Hi mikinoz.

According to an old guide I got from VW many moons ago the ZB is certainly an engine originating from a Passat or Audi 80 with following specs:
        55kw or 75hp
        1.5 litre or 1471cc
Was built between May 1972 to July 1974.

        Hope this helps

So I am now wondering what I should be doing as far as tuning it goes?

Plug gaps, timing, etc... where would I find this information?
