        Fuel Tank
        Fuel Pump
        Fuel accumulator
        Some wiring
        Some plumbing
        Lots of swearing
and a K-Jetronic motor with all the trimmings!

(I wouldn't even consider trying to source all the bits to retrofit a motor!)

I have just done this with Rednuts Jetta and Peter list is spot on, particularly the swearing.

I have the parts for another conversion, but not the time.

If you google k-jet it will give you the specifics of how the fuel injection system works.

Basically its an air flap that gets sucked by the engine and meters fuel up the injector lines to fuel the engine. It is used in many cars, including the Golf GTI.

also know as cis (continual injection system??) aka manaul fuel injection as the loon said the air meter on top of the air box determines how much fuel to send down the lines by the air flow drawn threw, not electronic injection as such

also on untold audis porsches bmw's and even volvos

Spent just over a grand on my K jet last month, new fuel pump, ( volvo 240 exactly the same ) rebuilt metering head, new injectors. Runs a hell of a lot better than it did before with 26 years worth of accumilated fuel varnish and crap removed from the system. ( tank was rinsed 2 times eeuuucckkk the crap !!)

If anyone is contemplating a K jet retrofit ( not impossible, you just need a set of clear instructions and time, clinical cleanliness also goes along way !!) I would recommend getting the metering head overhauled first and testing of the other major components ( control pressure regulator) some of the used parts I have purchased over the years have been sitting around for god knows how long collecting crud.

Next project is Megasquirt kit from the states..
                  Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

                  Cheers,
