  • where does everyone find their Mk1's

Me and my brother want to work on a mk1 project in the not too distant future, but can never seem to find mk1's (even Bombs) near newcastle, are they a very rare car?

      Ditto

      Yeah, wot Worm said
Also spread the word with the likes of GTI imports, Canberra VW, Honest Matt's GTI Emporium or other service centres (Pete found my 2 door GLS for me). Also sometimes e-bay can be your friend.
Just be prepared for a road trip

if I had the money man i would,

I guess I'll just stick to building my little Spanish one up for the moment,
keep the idea for a mk1 project on the backburner.

4 cylinder engines are the same ,as a Golf is basically an Audi with a VW badge.

That's where the original GTI motor came from. Audi 80 GTE or something.

We could import pre 1989 ones if you want to pick us some good ones. I`ll buy a 1988 caddy ute from you if you can see it onto a ship for me.

Are they based on the golf and do they make pretty tight vehicles?
