possible bump steer solve

so i had a "brainwave" the other day...

if i use mk2 uprights on the mk1, with the lower mounted steering arm, then my tie rods will be closer to level with low ride height, and thus reducing bump steer...

have people not done this before? it looks to all fit up.... we shall see

i have a kit to move the rod ends to the underside of the hub carrier, leveling out the tie rod

you just need to drill out the existing hole and press them in from the underside



will get some pics of them installed

Problem with this is that the lower control arms wont be parallel to the tie rod arm... go do a search on vortex, there is a encyclopaedia volume of posts on this subject..

you need to use ball joint extenders or a modified bearing housing to get the gains from the lower steering joint position. NO recommendation for use on the road !!

Exactly right. Relocating the tie rod barely has any effect (I've tried it already!). I have some of the ball joint extenders - a few hundred bucks, but money well spent, I'm sure.
