  • 2006 jetta tdi throttle body fail?

Hey guys so check engine light came on during the week on my TDI Jetta and got it scanned and came back to a fault code 012546 motor for intake manifold flap (v157). Turns out the flap doesnt close anymore as the plastic gears have broken inside! Apparently a common problem on petrols but not diesels? Anyone ever heard of this? Also has blowb a fuse which had triggered another fault code for my aircon fans. Cheapest I've seen so far is $350 from the uk plus what ever shipping is. Car runs fine, just shudders when turning off.

They can jam up when there's a lot of carbon build-up in the EGR flap above it.
