  • Fuel filter change interval

My polo started to miss at the top end of the rev range under WOT a few days back
The service indicator also came on at the dash after a few kms later

Been using BP fuel and I use Morey's smoke killer for every tank of fuel
Checked the fuel filter and it was done 19k km / 21 months ago
The owners manual indicates 30k km / 24 months but I bought a new one and changed it anyway

And this is what I found in the old filter -- algae[emoji33]
Well looks like I'll need some antibacterial treatment and another fuel filter

Just wondering how often do you guys change your fuel filters

Every 60K, as per the book.

Algae is moreso a fuel issue than anything.

I understand that is a fuel issue
I've left the car parked away for about a month at a few instance during this fuel filter
I assume that would allow those bacteria to feast on the fuel and multiply inside my fuel tank
That's why I'm getting antibacterial treatment and another fuel filter
Hopefully I'll get some good results[emoji16]
