Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

  • Common Rail Diesel Problems

Just wondering if it would be helpful to have a specific CR problem thread involving all issues with the latter engines and to give an easy indication of the number of problems with them as opposed to PD frinstance .
If there already is I'd like to know and then mods delete this thread.

Well it looks like the CR engine is good considering the lack of responses after 5 days of posting. I have needed to replace the flap body on mine. The story is here.

Understand how it works, troubleshoot logically BEFORE replacing parts.
