    I came across this video and thought guys here might be interested. It discuses more than just regeneration, it discusses oils, exhaust designs, and implications of the different regeneration systems and EGR's. I don't know how relevant this is to VW's, but they do mention the VW TDI engine at one point in the presso.

    Srsly though, thats a great video right there.
    Except he has the bit about VW TDI wrong - they regen every 400km, and when the pressure difference is sensed to be great enough.

    You can clearly hear the regen if you have a catback exhaust and/or cold air intake filter
