  • Exhaust Workshop warning light ON - Gen V 2.0TDI

    Hello fellow diesel VWers,
Can anyone advise of what (apart from go spend millions at VW dealer) I can do to correct this fault.
The Exhaust Workshop warning light has come on in the dash. It was due for a new fuel filter and and so I replaced that - the light went out - so I thought yeah, I fixed it. 100 ks later - its back. Book states something about a Lambda probe (oxygen sensor?). Any advise gladly taken, cheers

When posting for help, you need to post more info about the car.

hi The genV TDI golf is just a 103kw, the GTD is the beefed up 125kw motor.
Mine is the 2.0 litre TDI 2005 model golf as stated.

I have read alot since my origiginal post - seems like I need special tools anyway (good one VW - always working on ways to screw us) so I am destined to go to a dealer or specialist for some thing that is probably just a part swap .
