  • Skoda Octavia vRS TDI Intake

    Hey, all!!

I want to install an aftermarket intake on my Octy vRS TDI.
Anybody know if I can grab one for a 118TSI Golf or similar, and just drop it in?

The engine compartments of mine vs a 118TSI Golf Cabrio look pretty much the same apart from the big TDI badge on my engine cover, so that leads me to believe that I can just get a Golf GTI or Octavia vRS TSI intake... Is this the case?

If so, does anyone know an approximate price?
    And/or approximate price for a diesel-specific one?

    Cheers,
    -Myst

is this what your engine bay looks like?

If it is, it looks like any other PD140 engine. Intakes like Carbonio or Modshack would fit fine. Albeit, not much point in an aftermarket intake so save your money and go suspension mods in my opinion.

      This is my engine compartment.

So you're saying the PD140 intakes will be fine on the 125TDI?
160 or 170hp, uprated from 103TDI's. vRS TDI is basically a Golf GTD.

          Sweet!

Had a look at the Modshack website, and it says the Stage 1's were discontinued?...

Also - Would a TSI intake work fine?
I mean, I don't see why it wouldn't fit, but all those extra pipes, etc.

You can probably tell this is my first proper intake... Slapped a pod filter on my old 1.4ltr Kia, but want to do a decent job this time around.

Here is the one I have in my golf TDI. aFe Stage 1 Pro Dry S Intake. It retains the bottom half of the standard airbox.

Does it give any improvement over stock airbox, in regards to noise?
I'm looking for induction whoosh, mainly.

Mysticality - if you want noise but dont care about power, put a pod filter on it Otherwise, its a lot of coin for little gain

Also - the intakes are all the same. All the 4 cyl diesel intakes and the petrol intakes - all the same (at least the filter element is the same). Sure some of them have various extra hoses for the differing management systems.

All part of the efficient manufacturing and engineering practices implemented so we can buy so much car for so little (relatively speaking) money.

My T5 128kW makes nice induction noise with the OEM filter in place after the remap, love it!

Tried it for a laugh. Sounded creepy and threw a CEL.
Stock filter back on, CEL cleared. I don't know what thats about. lol

But awesome - I'll pick up a TSI intake somewhere and see how it goes!

Well, the point is that it will make no difference, since its the same

                        You have the AXE?

I think that is VW's coolest engine code
