haha wouldn't that be the perfect world... sadly it does void the warranty but i guess what it means is that its fairly safe to rechip it. and since the engine is a few years old now, you should be sweetOriginally posted by Spoddy View Post
Therefore a re-chpping of the 103 to the 125 should not void any warranties

Cylinder head gasket?
Perhaps they use a thinner head gasket
I'm told (unverified) that VW does approve one flash for the TDI. I won't mention names as it's too emotive a subject, but do your homework and it may pay dividends.
I'm totally happy with the performance of my TDI. As I've said many times before, with diesels it's how you drive them that counts

just because they might approve it, doesnt mean that they would have hesitation in voiding your warranty in the unlikely case you end up with a problem

I've read that the 125kw version uses different injectors and a variable vane turbo rather than just a standard one.
You'll also find that when you chip a 125kw version you get 150kw, rather than the 125 you get when you chip the 103.
150kw Diesel with the torque to match would be a screamer!
