I didn't see that anywhere in his thread (just went through it).
And with his combination of springs, wheels and tyres the ride would be awful and handling, when seriously pressing on, would be severely compromised, especially in bumpy corners.

The springs and handling discussion would be better in the Wheels and suspension section or rename the thread (I'd preffer), so more people can join the discussion and potentially benefit from it. Hence

eibach sportlines will be low enough. to get themr eset is $200 bucks which is getting me closer to coilover territory. which i want to avoid for a car that goes to uni and work and thats it.

pic on page 1 of this thread. will add pics / build thread when suspension arrives from uk. im thinking of getting gti rear shocks i found for $100 bucks for the pair installed for better handling.

Shocks are in, handling is way better, very rarely scrapes, and looks alot better.


Picked up side skirts and front lip today. trial fitting tomorow. pics to follow.

I'm loving all the build threads suddenly, been pretty quiet in the diesel section for some time, it's nice to see people up to mischief. Plus it motivates me to get off my a#$e and down into the garage!

its good to see, the mk5 thread seems to be full of people whinging about problems with their 'petrols'. i dont have many more mods planned, need to save some dosh. side skirts will be on saturday, ordring a provent in a few weeks, and a carbon fibre simoto air intake is on itway. everything will be colour coded soon and i believe that will conclude my little project. maybe seeing poyta, greg and forcefed continue will give me more motivation but im pretty happy with mine!

took the intake off, wasnt sucking enough air from the front of the car and im not crafty enough to mould/ build anything. ran like a dog

not going to get an intake now, way to expensive for little/ no gains.

no other mods planned now. all i want is halogen gti headlights as the right side is faded. jazd do you have your old ones?

also looking to sell 18's and replace with 2nd hand 19's to fill the guards a bit more as i cant afford to go lower,

other than that going to start saving for my next ride, 07+ 4motion V6 passat. w/ coilovers + 19's
