Email Notifications Failing (mostly Telstra)

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.
Just a reminder to those who compare the fuel economy (or rather those who use the fuel additives and then compare the fuel economy);
The fuel consumption check is always more accurate when you calculate it from the docket rather than using the MFD.
Keep in mind that when you compare 2 long trips and your vehicle is equipped with the DPF, then you should check from the scanner data when was the last active regeneration. Otherwise you may get very inaccurate results and wonder what's going on, since the engine is using extra fuel during regeneration process.

Would you expect an engine to do multiple regeneration cycles during a long trip if you have added a DPF additive like the Penrite one on the fill up just before embarking?

I'd like to get a response from a long distance delivery contractor eg o/night newspaper delivery to country areas with a minimum of one months figures before and after.
300 Particle filter; difference pressure 6 hPa
304 Particle filter; fuel consumption since last regeneration 2.59 l

Mine = 5mL/10,000km. Hard to compare with confidence without knowing the accuracy of the ash measurement. How many decimal places of accuracy are we supposed to get out of the computer?
Someone at TDIclub suggested the ash capacity was 200-250mL. Someone else on another forum said 175mL. (I presume there should be an accurate figure per model???) On that basis, I should be good for 400,000km or more before needing a new DPF.
Using Morey's Diesel Smoke Killer. Seems not to be hurting.
Sadly Bluey, DPF loading seems to be very logrhythmic rather than linear, in that it really ramps up loading as it approaches end of life, and it's surface area and efficiency decreases in compound fashion.

We need an additive that can break down the particles that accumulate in the DPF.
That one would be worth buying.
Perhaps it could be added just before the DPF via a dedicated access point to save having to design a compound that can pass safely through the engine and turbo.
Mate anything with Cerium in it will quickly regen soot in a DPF down to zero. It's oil ash that's the killer, I'm sure something could chemically remove it, but would probably remove the exhaust system as well. About all you can do is back flush that stuff, a DPF that turned 180 degrees would make a lot of sense. One that can't clog makes more, testing begins on the yeti real soon, has been a huge task.

Your idea is the best solution. Good luck with it and if it works the engineers who design this stuff should get a kick up the arse for not doing that in the first place.
