  • Mkv Golf 2.0l TDI smoking question

    HI,

I know its been covered in other threads, but im having trouble trying to get a clear idea.

I've move this to a new thread from the EGC cleaning one. I recently purchased a 2005 TDI with 131.000k. Im new to TDI so im not sure if im being overly worried about the about of smoke with the car. I know diesels do smoke on heavy acceleration, but mine seems to do it even on gentle inclines, possibly when the turbo kicks in. There is also a strange "pulsing or hesitation of teh throttle when its held around the 2-2300 RPM (with or without the cruise control on. The rest of the engine is fine, no lack of power or anything untoward.

It actually only seems to smoke from 2 to 3000rpm then its clear.

Could it be injectors, turbo seals?

Just trying to work out the best plan of attack, whether its a lemon and i throw it back at the dealer, or if its a intake/EGC cleanout, etc.
    My first Modern VW!

It's hard without seeing it, so thecbest is to take it to the mechanic. You can use independent VW workshop. Try Camden GTI.
