Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

  • ECU Tuner _ DPF delete possibilities.

I came accross this on another forum. Sounds interesting for those with DPF problems.

    Welcome to Custom Spooling

Yes a DPF delete is the way to go for big power in GT TDi etc.

Gavin @ CustomCode has teh software to do this.

Yes, Big power and fantastic fuel savings too. From what I've read CustomCode seem to be the only one's that have done it with no reliability issues. I think I'll wait till my DPF dies before I do it though as its not just a simple coding job - it will require a new exhaust and with possibly the installation of a catalytic converter as the DPF in the Mk5's contain the Cat, so removing the DPF also removes the cat. I'm happy that Gavin is local too.

I think you will find their DPF removals only pertain to the Cummins / Powerstroke big arse SUV engines which they spend a lot of time cracking. Currently only Malone tuning in the USA is "trying" to delete the DPF from their MK6 VW's, but as they hardly saw the MKV DPF, there is no US removal tune to my knowledge. At least now the MK6 crew will have options, and they have a better, split cat / DPF filter over the combined, and thus expensive to replace MKV version.

Many have tried in the UK ( and still are ) but to date I'd still only trust Custom Code as having a true solution. Great spotting all the same!!

Did you check the site? Custom Spooling is in Ireland. I particularly checked to see what they offered for "Big Arse" F250's - nothing! They mainly target european vehicles.

Boy I shouldn't be so quick to judge, just saw .com and figured it was the good ol' US of A!

I'm afriad an F250 is a "light duty" SUV in the USA, heck, you don't even need a side step!

An F250 with a 7.3l Powerstroke engine, weighing in at around 3.5 tonnes is hardly a "light duty" SUV even in USA! What do you perceive to be heavy duty?

I'm just gonna stop commenting on this thread, I'm not feeling so smart here! I thought a F250 was a more normal sized SUV, but then I'm not into them so I'll just shut up!

It seems Viezu also does DPF deletes (for BMW diesels anyway).
                    see here

Like Custom Spooling, they mention it on their website but no details are provided.

I've hit them both up with emails asking about their services for the Mk5.

This is interesting - (from custom spooling)
                        > Hi, Do you guys offer DPF removal for the Golf V GT TDI (170 HP)? Do you

                        > that deals with the regens correctly? Thanks - Jared.

                        Hi Jared,

Yes we do DPF deletes for them. We do them correctly (manually edited
software). We understand there is many companies offering DPF deletes
which do not work correctly. With our DPF deletes, it will work 100%
                        correctly.

Don't waste times with pipes, go for Miltek for excellent quality

If that link doesn't work, I will resend it.

                        Where are you located?

DPF-Delete Hi Flow Downpipe - JBS

JBS had the delete pipes made some time ago, they are now on release to the public. Custom-Code have the software.

As many have tried in the UK, such as the big name AMD, and failed so far, I'd want some serious proof. Anyone can delete it, but eventually that pesky regen seems to want to come back on, and it seems this hidden code has only been cracked successfully thus far by CCode. All is fine until raw fuel starts pouring down your DPF less exhaust....
