  • Intercooler upgrade on GT TDi?

Anyone heard of an easy Intercooler upgrade for the GT TDi with 125kw 2.0l TDI engine?
    Is it even worth it?

Nope. All my testing has proven to me that on the road in QLD the stock system does a remarkable job. If you live in Cairns perhaps, but the best mod is ducting, followed by a simple water spray onto the core. You can upgrade to an S3 one, or the big dollar APR, but unless you have a BIG tune, hybrid turbo, or track the thing, it just isn't necessary. It is identical to the MkV GTI one by the way.

Shame you can't refrigerate it. I drove my car one night at 2am after a world cup match in -2.0 degrees and it pulled much harder than usual. It was rad.

haha yeah, what happens when you put the heater on? lol

(I know they are two separate systems, it's what in "the biz" they call, a joke!)

Don't laugh, that actually helps. The AC core is in front of the Intercooler, and if you put on the heater, the AC core cools down, and cooler air is thus blowing across your Intercooler. I reckon it would make stuff all difference, but if you were doing a track day, I'd give it a shot!
